
Why is there a Museum of the Discoveries?

In mid-March 2020, the pandemic forced us to stay at home and establishments to close. Now, more than a year later, the World of Discoveries Interactive Museum and Theme Park in Porto has been open to visitors since July 1. The space, which is located in the city’s riverside area, next to Alfândega, is characterized by combining the adventure and fun of a theme park with the knowledge of a museum. Visitors can therefore count on several interactive rooms to explore, along with a boat trip that will take them through 13 full-scale scenarios. It is on this journey that they will learn a little more about the Age of Discovery and the history of the first circumnavigation of the world by Ferdinand Magellan.
