Age of Discoveries shipbuilding was the true first chapter of every journey. From keel to caulking, this is how ships were built to survive salt, wind and rough seas, long before the horizon.

The World of Discoveries Interactive Museum and Theme Park has now reopened in Porto’s riverside area.
Opened in 2014, the World of Discoveries has already welcomed nearly 1 million visitors and is a benchmark in Portugal. The space, which combines entertainment and knowledge through interactive rooms and a boat ride with 13 full-scale scenarios, reveals the time of the Portuguese Discoveries and the story of the first circumnavigation of the world, carried out by Ferdinand Magellan, in the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of this historic feat. In a themed journey that reconstructs the odyssey of the Portuguese navigators who crossed oceans to discover an unknown world, visitors will pass through the Dark Sea, the Cape of Storms, Black Africa, the Rainforests, India, Timor and China, Macau, Japan and, finally, Brazil.
